Internship is back, which means once again I'm driving all over San Diego County to places I've never been before, and seeing our students doing amazing things!
Today I visited Abe at B&M Auto Repair in El Cajon, where he's being mentored by mechanics Big Will & Little Will (genuinely, that's what they told me to call them). They started out by driving around the county doing on-the-spot repairs, then decided to settle down at a single location. They explained to me that they specialize in low-cost repair, and while I was there they gave a customer a new tire that they'd been holding on to for when he needed it. They told him to pay for it as soon as he could. "He needs the tire to get to work, to get his paycheck", Little Will explained to me. You can read more about Abe's internship on his own blog, here.
