David Rolland, editor of San Diego CityBeat, is coming to our class on Friday. In advance of this, he's suggested reading the first article in the series the magazine ran investigating prison inmate deaths in San Diego (which are the highest in California).
You can read the first article here. Once you've read it, post a question for David as a "comment" on this blog post (you can also post a comment about the article if you'd like). Some things to think about as you're coming up with your questions When you're thinking about what to write, remember that it takes a lot of people to make something like this. Someone had to propose this article, someone had to approve it, someone had to research it, someone had to edit it, someone had to provide photos, and someone had to fact-check it (which probably meant calling up prisons to tell them this article was coming out). Finally, someone had to design the layout, and somehow, enough money needed to be raised to pay everyone, and pay for the magazine to be printed and distributed all over San Diego. What do you want to know about how this article was researched/written/edited/etc.? Some other things you might want to write about in your comment
