When I first picked this book up I was immediately intrigued. Shiver is about werewolves which is my favorite of the supernatural bestiary. As a child Grace was attacked by wolves. Mysteriously one of them stopped the rest of the pack and saved her life. Since then Grace has had an endless obsession with the wolves living in the woods behind her house. She later learns that the wolves are able to shift into humans during the warmer seasons. Shiver is told in an alternating first person narratives between Grace and Sam. (The wolf that saved her) The concept of the werewolves being able to walk as humans sometimes during the year was very interesting to me. I also found it useful how the temperature was included in the beginning of every chapter since it's crucial to the wolves. The only thing I would say was a bit unexplained was why the wolves couldn't live in a hot place to stay as humans. Yes it was mentioned but I didn't think the explanation made too much sense. Overall I would say I really enjoyed the book. The love story between Sam and Grace was very sweet. If you like books like Twilight I recommend this one.

I picked up the book Twilight by Stephenie Meyer from Dr.P´s library in class. I started to read the book for fun but then found my self getting really into the book because I felt the book was very different from the actual movie. I felt that I am old enough to take on 500 pages in a week. I was so into the book that I finished way before my goal which was probably a week and a half. The characters Edward Cullen and Bella Swan are so different and so alike at the sane time. This book does not talk about their romance as shown in the movie but rather talks about Bella's feelings towards Forks and living in a whole different area than she was used to. This book contains so much vivid description that invites you into the book.

I just finished reading Friday Night Lights. The book by H. G Bissinger is a non-fiction story set in the small mining town of Odessa, Texas. When I first picked up the book I thought it would be all about football and a team that goes through struggles as one big whole. The reality of it was that each person and player on the team goes through their own set of obstacles and self doubt.

Noggin is about a boy who had cancer in every part of his body but his head. Around the time where he was very close to death scientist came up with this new idea to where you cut your head off and put it on a new (healthier) body. Travis (the boy with cancer) did not have much to hold onto so he agreed to test out the experiment. Going into it scientist were not to sure if it would work out not so they would freeze his head until they were completely sure of the idea. Travis would not know what time of the future he would wake up or if he would even wake up at all. He ends up waking up 5 years later and new life is a mutated version of his old one.

Over Thanksgiving break I chose to read the book " Every Last Word " by Tamara Ireland Stone. I could not put this book down after I read the very first few chapters because the characters in this book all have unique flaws that can come surprising to people. This book was about a young girl called Samantha Mcallister who joins the Poet's corner for people who love to read and write poems. She is a popular teen in high school that is friends with everyone but has a secret that no one knows of. She has uncontrolable OCD and has trouble focusing in class because she always second guesses her self and always has trouble at home. Until the moment she meets a guy she really likes, her OCD continues to take over her life. This boy named AJ completely falls in love with Sam. She is always scared that he will find out about her problem and through out the book she tries to calm her self. She does everything to make this boy fall in love with her then he finds out many secrets about Sam. I loved all the mysteries about thie book and all the suspence with her friends and the way peole treat her as soon as they realize that she's not as perfect as everyone thinks. This book really was one of those books that I could not stop reading. I really reccoment this book for girls who love romance related books.

I've read multiple books from the "I Am Number Four" series by Pittacus Lore. The genre of the series, as I say, is a Sci - Fi, Fantasy, Romance, and Action novel. The books are about an intergalactic war that was dragged onto Earth. There are an alien race called Loriens that are gifted with powers, but their planet has been obliterated by another alien race named Mogadorians, who are much more advanced in technology. The surviving Loriens, who were 9 kids and their guardians, were sent to Earth to hide until them and their powers were strong enough to take back Earth. I really like this series because it has plenty of action, plot twists, and things that I can relate to such as not fitting into school. I love the way the author creates and shows his characters because they feel so real to me. He describes how they look, the little details in their face, the way they stand, if they're right handed or left handed, and much more. I also love the simple yet exciting side plots that he inserts into the story such as how they found a dog, what school was like, even though it was irrelevant to the main story. The series is still on going, and I can't wait for the next book.

I am currently reading the book Paper Towns by John Green which is about two teenagers who have been best friends and neighbors for years. Margo is a aventuras teenager who loves a thrill, exploring and getting into trouble. Q is a teenage boy who’s madly in love with Margo and is more of the type to worry about his grades. I haven’t gotten very far into the book, just to the point where they sneak out at night and go on a adventure to get revenge on some people. I find this book to be very interesting, I love the mystery of how Margo disappears and leaves Q hints to find her. I love the thrill and the small amount of romance. It’s not an ordinary book.

The Martian, enter a time of space exploration adventure second only to Star Trek. The Martian follows the very sarcastically funny astronaut Mark Watney in his time stranded on the planet Mars after a tragic accident involving a dust storm, the worlds luckiest blood clot and a perfectly timed satellite dish. Watney awakes from being passed out due to life support and pressurization failures in his suit to find his crew gone as well as the MAV (Mars Ascent Vehicle). Mark struggles to survive in this desolate planet but manages to do so against all odds using his own feces to fertilize martian soil as well as a modified rover to communicate with NASA. All in all The Martian was a very VERY good read and I encourage other readers of all ages to pick it up.

This is a book about a girl, Mia, who has a choice. Does she stay and suffer the pain of her new life or does she go and leave everyone behind? What I loved about this book was the way it was set up. You get all the crazy drama right at the beginning while still getting all the backstory. This was great for me because personally getting into a book is really difficult for me. Character development, backstory and all that stuff usually bores me and I quickly lose interest. This book kept me interested and wanting more every time I picked up the book (which is really rare that a book does that for me). I would recommend this book to anyone who maybe finds reading really boring, just doesn’t like to read in general, or who really likes any of John Green’s books.

Upon reading the synopsis of the books, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and its sequel Hollow City by Ransom Riggs, I was interested. The first book follows a teenager who has lived through one of the most traumatic events in his life. It leads him to a small island near Wales to investigate what was leading to what he went through. Upon investigation, he gets sent back in time to meet young children with superpowers who can give him information and offer help. For its sequel, it’s him joining the young children in the past to save what they had left. They have lost almost everything, so they go on a journey to try and save it.

Honestly, if you are a fan of video games, no matter what genre you play, you’ll love this book. It is basically fit for anyone who can enjoy a little bit of video games in their lives, and this book expands on that. What you’ll expect from this book is basically a whole batch of interesting facts, activities that we could bring into our own lives to enrich an aspect of it, the impact video games make on the world, and just the overall importance of video games and why they remain. Aside from the amounts of times you’ll be introduced to a real world game and shown how fun and engaging it can be which I found a bit to be a bit of a nuisance most of the time or just not interesting at all, Reality is Broken is a very good read, and I recommend it to the audience that I have mentioned previously. If it wasn’t for what I found wrong with the book I’d give this book a perfect five out of five but for now I’ll give it a rating of…

The book I have been reading is called "A Work in Progress" by Connor Frana. Connor Franta is a well known Youtuber, This book is about Connor's life. Talking how a small town boy turning into a big superstar Youtuber. Connor talks about his life achievement and struggles. My favorite part in the book is when Connor tells the story and how he felt coming out to his family. It shows how strong he is. I would recommend this to anyone who likes to read a good memoir or if they’re a fan of Connor Franta.

Im not a big fan of reading, like if I could I wouldnt read ever. Reading "Its kind of a funny story" made me dislike reading a little bit less. I think I liked it because its non fictional and the teens reaction to the difficult situations like of drugs, depression and relationships is pretty accurate.

After hearing many positive reviews of John Green’s books, I decided to read Looking for Alaska. Before I read this book, I was expecting a cliché boy-meets-girl love story; which this book was not. The plot was strategically thought out while throwing in surprising moments and by the end of the book, everything ties together.

If you enjoyed the film, you’ll enjoy the book, The Blind Side is an amazing book for sport lovers and to the people who watched the movie. The book captures more sides and different stories than the movie, for a person who hates reading I happen to enjoy the book. I liked the book because I love football, not only did the book talk about a poor boy from the ghetto side of Memphis who becomes apart of a white family from the rich side of Memphis who reaches his goal to become a football player, but it also talks about Bill Walsh a NFL coach who change the offense to a whole new level.I don’t like reading, but The Blind Side has changed that. The fact that it’s based on a true story makes it even better, because the main character starts off with nothing and he learns the skill of football and becomes one of the biggest college players because of his body size.

When I finished my book review I thought Ender was the saddest sad boy in the galaxy but he just mass genocide trying to protect his home: Earth. He sacrificed a lot of Marines but hey at least you saved the world. What I don't like about this book was the fact that the children acted like soldiers when they were only training to become one and they also acted like adults but then again they need discipline. In conclusion this book was pretty interesting.

The book Eleanor & Park is a perfect example of a drama romance teen book. It is about two sophomore kids in high school that fall in love on a bus ride to school. In this book you read both the point of view from Eleanor, a red head girl that is living with her 4 siblings, her mom and Richie (her stepdad which she hates), and also from the point of view of Park, a boy who doesn't know what he has until he meets eleanor. this is the story about a girl with a lot of problems that loves music and a perfect boy that also loves music and as they slowly fall in love with every bus ride to school and every song they hear together.

Introducing the book this book is about to friends that are like brothers and are slowly becoming to different one is breaking the law and the other is trying to have a future with a girl. I connected with the book a lot because both of the charterers have have personalities that my friend and I have. If I was going to recommend this book to any one that some one would be Aj why because we both liked the outsiders and we both like the era of greasers.

The book I was reading was Nothing Special. This book was a good book because I was adventurous and if your into those types of books I recommend this book. The book was about this kid that was into football and had a younger brother and an older sister. Then the younger brother had asked if he could go to this orchestra camp. The main character of the book then founded out by one of the younger brothers friend that he was trying to run away. The main character then wanted to go get him back so ask one of his friends if he can take him on a "road trip" to where his brother was. The road trip was crazy a lot happened on the road trip and during all this the people back home for instance the sister thought they were going to go look at some colleges but in reality went to go get the younger brother back. Also the main character was suppose to go to a football camp but couldn't because he had to go see if his brother was safe.

Freakonomics by Steven D. Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner is the perfect novel for a curious reader. In this book, Steven D. Levitt and his team of economists explore the hidden side of some statistics and demographics that are shared with the world. From questions like "How is the Ku Kux Klan Like a Group of Real-Estate Agents?" to "What Makes a Perfect Parent?", Freakonomics connects several unusual topics and studies all of the nuances in between the data. This book was very intriguing to me because of the choice of random studies and the surprising outcome of data that was discovered such as what the abortion rate in America has to do with the economy in Sweden.

I recently finished the book American Born Chinese by Gene Luen Yang in my humanities class. The books was a pretty interesting story of a young boy who has to deal with the changes of going from China to America. This book doesn't just focus on this topic, there's actually two more stories in the book that you are constantly jumping back and forth from. The first one is about a Monkey king and his anger towards the gods because they didn't see him as a person but only a monkey when he was just as powerful as them. The third story is one of a american boy who has a cousin named cousin chin kee. The american really dislikes his cousin because of all the embarrassing things he does causing lots of his friends to dislike him. My favorite part of this book is the ending because it's one that i didn't see coming from a mile away and really left me thinking. If you really like graphic novels that have a compelling story i highly recommend this award winning one too you.

Veronica Roth’s bestselling Divergent Trilogy, Allegiant is about Tris, Four/Tobias and their gang of friends and enemies leaving their city that they have come to know for so long, in search for answers. What they came across was a scientific explanation of their communities and factions with a message conveying that you can choose not what “faction” you belong to, but the person you are, despite genetic predisposition.
